01Why this matters

Shoppers stopped Googling. They started asking.

03FAQ

Questions you’re probably asking.

I'm on Shopify. Does this still apply to me?

Yes. Shopify gives you a head start — some of the technical pieces are already there. But most of what we check still matters: how AI reads your product pages, content quality, trust signals, brand recognition. Run yours and see.

Will this change anything on my store?

No. We only read your public website — the same way Google does. We don’t ask for logins, install anything, or touch your store.

How is this different from my SEO tool?

SEO tools score you for Google. We score you for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. They read your store differently from Google. Both matter — they’re not the same.

My score landed exactly on 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 / 70 — what does that mean?

Some failures cap your score regardless of how well you do elsewhere — we call these hard blockers. A capped score means there’s one structural issue holding everything else back. The result page tells you which one fired; the full list is on the methodology page.

I scored a major retailer (Walmart, Target, Amazon) and they got a low score — is the tool broken?

No — that result is honest. Enterprise retailers like Walmart and Target integrate with AI shopping engines through private feed APIs (Merchant Center, ACP/UCP) rather than through public on-page schema. Our scorer reads what a public AI crawler can see; for those stores, that’s genuinely thin. agentShelf is built for SMB merchants who don’t have a Merchant Center pipeline. If you’re an SMB on Shopify, Woo, Wix, Squarespace, or a custom storefront, the score reflects what AI assistants actually see when they read your site.

What does it cost?

The score is free, always. A paid tier (in early access) hosts an AI-readable copy of your catalog at your-store.agentshelf.app and runs daily mention checks across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini — from $29/month when it opens to the public. The free score stays free.

How accurate is this?

The scoring method is published in detail at agentshelf.app/methodology. Every check, every weight, every cap is documented. If you disagree with a score, you can see exactly how it was calculated.
